What is acoustic emission?
Acoustic emission is used in the field of Materials Science and is defined as the measurement of sound waves in order to detect material flaws or failures.
What is the acoustic emission collection?
Allen T. Green, president of Acoustic Technology Group, donated his personal collection
of works in acoustic emission to the Grainger Engineering Library. This collection consists of approximately 4,500
articles, reports and papers on acoustic emission. Click here to see a picture of Allen.
Search Tips
To retrieve results from the database:
- Enter at least one term in one of the search boxes; and
- Press the Perform Search button
Author - For best results use the author's last name only. Most authors are entered in the database with last name and first initial.
Search results
From the Search Results page you can navigate through the results using the First, Previous, Next and Last buttons on the left side of the screen.
Requesting a specific document
If you find a document that you are interested in borrowing, click the Request Material button at the bottom of the Search Results page. Fill out the appropriate information on the request form and click Send e-mail to generate an e-mail request that will automatically be sent to Grainger.
